COME AND CELEBRATE SPRING!

Please come join us at the Delprat Gardens for Open Day on Friday 18 & Saturday 19 November. The Delprat Garden project is collaboration between the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, Newcastle Industrial Heritage Association, Bosque Landscape Architecture, and UTS PhytoLab scientists. The garden is an experimental design, environmental and heritage education project. It aims to activate the garden and cottage through educational programmes of public events while serving as a living phytoremediation laboratory. Phytoremediation is a low cost, natural process where plants absorb harmful toxins from the soil. Located at the Delprat Cottage (133A Ingall Street, Mayfield, NSW) on former BHP land, the garden aims to restore degraded land in a beautiful, expressive and educative manner.
